Since November 1, 2018, the University of Potsdam offers a university-wide license for MATLAB, Simulink and 50 Toolboxes for all students and employees. This MATLAB Total Academic Headcount License allows all students, faculty and researchers to use the software at their workspace, in the computer pools, in the university’s WiFi network, at home and while traveling.
To use the license you first create a MathWorks account. Here, an email address of the University of Potsdam must be used, i.e. an address with the domain @uni-potsdam.de or a subdomain of this domain. In the personal MathWorks profile, the account is linked to the university-wide MATLAB license with the option “Associated to an additional license”, entering the license number 40748452 and then the complete software package with all toolboxes or a part thereof can be downloaded, installed and activated. This activation must be renewed once a year on the deadline of 1 November.
Together with the MATLAB TAH License, we have acquired a comprehensive resource and service package. In addition to using MATLAB Online in a browser environment, this includes the MATLAB Academy with self-paced courses, video tutorials, teaching materials and online seminars, the MATLAB Grader eLearning environment, MATLAB Support / Service Requests, and more.
In addition to the MATLAB-based modules in numerous bachelor’s and master’s programs, ZIM will soon be offering MATLAB introductory courses for interested students and employees.
