New Master’s Degree Program at the University of Potsdam, Part 2

On 23 March we announced the new English-language master’s degree program “Remote Sensing, geoInformation and Visualization” (RSIV) at the University of Potsdam. We now have a timeline for the application process, the requirements to be accepted as a student of RSIV and the course concept (see table).

The program focuses on the gathering, processing, analysing, and presentation of geoscientific spatial data by using remote-sensing technologies and data-processing methods. The program uses models and theories to assess geoinformation, and then to prepare and communicate our findings with modern means of visualization.

The application deadline is 15 July 2017. You will be selected based on your bachelor degree grade and a motivation letter. We only accept applications for the first semester. It’s a new course, we will only teach the five mandatory modules in the next winter semester. You will be informed about the success of your application in August before you are invited to register between 15 August and 10 November.

The requirements to apply are a bachelor degree with at least 36 credits in geosciences, biology, physics, chemistry or computer sciences and 12 credits in university/undergraduate mathematics, including topics such as multivariable differential and integral calculus, linear algebra, ordinary and partial different equations, complex analysis and topics in functional analysis.

Please register online if you are interested in the new masters course.
